Western Wisconsin's Only Regional Single-Stream MRF
10 tons/hour throughput. 10 material types separated simultaneously. Optical sorters, two robotic picking arms, and a full bypass and recirculating system — running in La Crosse, not 200 miles away.
What Happens Inside Green Circle's MRF
A single-stream material recovery facility receives commingled recyclables — everything mixed together in one bin — and mechanically and optically sorts them into individual commodity streams for baling and sale.
Green Circle Recycling's facility at 2800 Larson St in La Crosse accepts loads from municipal haulers, Harter's Quick Clean-Up collection routes, and commercial accounts. Material travels through a series of screens, belts, and optical/robotic sorters before emerging as specification-grade bales ready for commodity markets.
Our investment in automation — accelerating through 2022 and 2023 — has made the facility's output cleaner, its throughput faster, and its economics more favorable for the municipalities and haulers who depend on regional tip-fee competitiveness.
