RapidSideKick · Every PC gets a sidekick

Where the hours go, and what they earn.

RapidSideKick runs quietly on every work computer and keeps an honest record of the day: the apps and windows in front, active time and meetings. RapidPSA holds the tickets, time entries and contracts. RapidCFO holds payroll, vendor bills and what each client pays. RapidDashboard joins all three on person, client and day, so one plain-English question gets an answer that spans every system.

Five questions no single system can answer

Harbor Point Technology runs managed IT for 81 clients with a service team of 12, every one of them with a sidekick on their PC. Each tab is one question asked of the joined data, with the systems it needed. Move the sliders: every number recalculates in your browser.

Client work recorded against time logged, per person

Hours in the last 30 days. The number on the right is the gap.

Where the gap landed

Each gap hour is matched to a client, then to that client's contract in RapidPSA.

Each tech closes their own gap: My day hands them the timesheet note, already written. Field techs show laptop time only, so their site visits come from RapidPSA dispatch.

Answer

In each Rapid tool

One honest record, put to work in every Rapid tool

RapidDashboard joins the record once. After that, each Rapid tool reads the numbers it needs, in the screen people already use.

RapidPSA + RapidSideKick

Timesheets that write themselves

  • Notes, ready. My day drafts the note for each ticket from the record. One tap files it to the RapidPSA ticket with the time.
  • Smarter dispatch. The board shows who is deep in focused work and who has room, so new tickets go to the person with time.
  • Contract checks. Block-hour balances count recorded work, so a client hears about a top-up early.

RapidCFO + RapidSideKick

Profit on real effort

  • Client profitability grades every client on recorded hours, with logged hours beside them.
  • Licence utilization uses who actually opened each app, so trims are safe to make.
  • Hardware. Computers silent for 30 days come off the refresh budget.
  • Staffing model reads real load and backlog, so the hire date is a number.

RapidTablet + RapidSideKick

Meetings that start with the numbers

  • Briefings. Remi opens the weekly ops meeting with team load and the clients whose grade moved.
  • Cost per meeting. Minutes and to-dos sit beside the hours each meeting took, so the agenda can shrink with evidence.

RapidKiosk + RapidSideKick

A team board on the wall

  • Service desk screen. Team load, the queue and focused hours on an always-on screen, in team totals.
  • Quiet hours. When the team is in a focus block, the board says so and routes walk-ups to the dispatcher.

Ask across all of it

Which clients took more recorded hours this quarter than last, and did their fee change?
  • One question, every source. The answer cites which system each number came from.
  • Your access rules. Owners see people, team leads see their team, everyone sees their own.

Used well

Trust is the feature

For people who work hard and get interrupted all day, a record they can see is protection. The build follows the sidekick's own four rules.

Their day, to them first

Each person opens My day and sees their own record before anyone else does.

Team totals on shared screens

Dashboards, the wall screen and the briefing show teams. Person-level rows stay with the person and their lead.

Counts, never keystrokes

RapidSideKick counts keys and clicks per span and keeps no record of what was typed. RapidDashboard reads hours by app, client and day.

Said out loud

Tell the team what is recorded and why: fair client pricing, safe workloads and a clear case for the next hire.

What RapidDashboard reads

  • Hours per person, per client, per day
  • Hours per app category and per meeting
  • Weekly active hours against a healthy week
  • Who opened each licensed app in 30 days

Where the record lives

  • On one RapidSideKick server per company
  • It leaves only through an API you control
  • Your RapidDashboard roles decide who sees person-level rows

How it's built

Four steps from three systems to one answer

Roll out the sidekicks

One box per company and one line in your RMM. Every PC gets its sidekick the same day, with nothing to do per PC.

RapidSideKick

Match the people

Each sidekick's user is matched to their RapidPSA technician and RapidCFO payroll role by work sign-in.

RapidSideKickRapidPSARapidCFO

Match the clients

A mapping table turns remote session names, client portal addresses and ticket numbers in window titles into a RapidPSA client. Unmatched time stays internal.

RapidSideKickRapidPSA

Join and ask

RapidDashboard reads daily totals through the RapidSideKick API and joins them with RapidPSA and RapidCFO on person, client and day.

Questions

Good to know

What does RapidSideKick record?

Which app and window is in front, the web address for work in the browser, active and idle time, and key and click counts per span, never what was typed. Screenshots run only on a schedule the business sets. Each person sees their own day, and managers the business chooses see the team.

Where does the data live?

On one RapidSideKick server per company. The record leaves only through an API you control, and RapidDashboard reads daily totals through it.

Do I need RapidPSA and RapidCFO too?

Each pair stands on its own. RapidSideKick with RapidPSA answers unlogged work and dispatch. RapidSideKick with RapidCFO answers idle licences, idle hardware and staffing. All three together grade every client on the hours it really takes.

What about field techs and work away from a computer?

RapidSideKick records time on the computer. Site visits and phone work come from RapidPSA dispatch and time entries, so the build keeps field roles on logged time and counts only their laptop work as recorded.

How is time matched to a client?

A mapping table, set up once: remote session names, client portal addresses, ticket numbers in window titles. Time that matches no client stays internal and shows in the totals as unmatched, so the gap is never overstated.

Is the data on this page real?

Harbor Point Technology is fictional, the same sample company as the RapidCFO build. People are shown as roles, clients carry made-up names, and every figure is illustrative.
